Accessibility
Where we stand, rough edges included.
An honest account of where things are, not a declaration that everything is in order.
What we aim for
Our bar is WCAG 2.2 AA, for this website, for the guide your guest opens and for the dashboard. We do not claim to meet it: we have never audited the product against it, and this page is an account, not a statement of conformance.
How we test
Every change to the product runs an automated accessibility check over this website, over the guide as it appears on a phone, and over the dashboard. A check like that finds only some of the problems: whether a screen can be followed with only a keyboard, or with a screen reader, is not something a machine can judge.
What we know is not right yet
- Nobody has gone through the product by hand yet, with only a keyboard or with a screen reader, and nobody outside the project has looked at it.
- The dashboard has one appearance, dark, and it cannot be switched.
- Parts of the dashboard are not in the automated check yet: the screen where you edit a guide, the screen for your place, and the dialogs, such as making a guide, sharing one or inviting someone.
- On this website and in the dashboard the automated check does not yet cover all of our standard: whether a button is large enough to tap is measured only in the guide.
Reporting a problem
Run into something? Write to info@vidiveni.app; we answer in Dutch or English. There is no separate address for this yet, and no button in the guide made for it.
